Shape of a Mother

As I stand before my present self
I do not like what I see.
You have claimed every single part of me.

The curves I once knew and loved have disappeared in the fog,
The glow I once had is now a blur in my memory.

My swaying hips have widened,
The spring in my step is gone.
My skin has lost it’s beauty and it’s all because of you.

These stripes have earned me the title.
My pain has earned me the crown,
I’ve given it all just to see that beautiful smile.
Just to see you in my arms.

I love how you remind me just how much you love me.
You have given me all that I ever needed with no inch of regret.
